After serving as one of the nation’s top-ranked backup quarterbacks early in his career, Ty delivered a breakout redshirt junior season at Alabama, starting all 15 games and emerging as one of the most productive quarterbacks in the country. He threw for 3,567 yards and 28 touchdowns with just five interceptions, earning All-SEC Second Team honors and finishing as a finalist for the Manning Award. Simpson has declared for the 2026 NFL Draft and is widely projected as a first-round selection.

A dynamic and talented signal-caller, Ty has seen action in 16 games over the past three years for the Crimson Tide including leading a key comeback victory over USF in 2023.

Ty was ranked the #1 quarterback in the country by On3 Consensus and a five-star quarterback on the 247 Composite Rankings. He led Westview High School to the Tennessee State Football Championship in 2021 and was named the Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year.

During his senior year alone, Ty threw for 2,921 yards and 44 touchdowns while also rushing for 1,206 yards and 15 scores. He was selected to the US Army All-American Bowl game and invited to the prestigious Elite 11 Camp.
