I'm Ty Simpson. This is why I chose Alabama football after travelling the country

We went all over the country trying to find the right school for me.

My dream school was Oklahoma just because of the pedigree with Lincoln Riley, Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray and guys like that. I always grew up watching them and wanting to play like them. So, when I got the Oklahoma offer I was stoked.

But I knew if I went there I wouldn't get as much playing time as I would at some other places. So, I called coach Riley and told him I think another place would be better for me and he understood.

Picking Alabama football — it was hard but I knew it was the right choice because my last schools were Ole Miss, Tennessee, Clemson, Alabama and UT Martin.

2021 - 2022 TENNESSEE FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound senior quarterback had led the Chargers to a 13-1 record and a berth in the Class 2A state championship game at the time of his selection. Simpson completed 193 of 305 passes for 2,827 yards and 41 touchdowns, with just three interceptions, through 14 games. He also rushed for 862 yards and 11 touchdowns on 92 carries. A Mr. Football finalist, Simpson has been selected to play in the 2022 All-American Bowl. He is ranked as the nation’s No. 23 recruit in the Class of 2022 by 247Sports.

Simpson has maintained a 3.63 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play football on scholarship at the University of Alabama next fall.

A devoted member of his church youth group, Simpson has assisted the elderly in his community and has volunteered locally on behalf of Goodwill.

Early Enrollee QB Ty Simpson Already Making Impression on Alabama Teammates

Ty Simpson has only been on campus a few days, but he is already practicing with the team and making an impression on his new Crimson Tide teammates.

One of the top quarterbacks in the 2022 class has enrolled early and is helping Alabama prepare for Cincinnati and the College Football Playoff on scout team. He can briefly be seen in the practice footage released by Alabama yesterday wearing a black No. 3 jersey.

Back on signing day, Alabama head coach Nick Saban spoke highly of Simpson, and said it was a high possibility that the quarterback out of Tennessee would be participating in bowl prep.
